Didcot lies halfway between London and Bristol on Brunel’s historic Great Western Railway. The original engine shed is home to a lovingly restored collection of Great Western Railway steam locomotives. On steamdays some of the engines come to life and there are rides on the trains including a replica of the broad gauge ‘Fire Fly’ engine dating from 1840 in action on a recreation of Brunel’s original broad gauge railway.
