Dorchester Abbey Museum is housed in two buildings on the site of the Abbey. The Old Schoolroom is part of the abbey’s 14th Century guesthouse and contains a vast collection of material related to the history of Dorchester. This includes ancient maps, archaeological finds, pictures and paintings. The Cloister Gallery is the other main part of the museum and stands in a pentice built against the north wall of the abbey. It houses a small but beautiful collection of artworks.
