The Fox Talbot Museum is owned and managed by the National Trust and commemorates the life and work of William Henry Fox Talbot, one of the most famous names of the 19th Century. A mathematician, classicist and great student of Syrian he is probably best known for his invention of the positive and negative process in 1840, making him one of the fathers of modern photography. The permanent collection on the ground floor is filled with artefacts from his life, whereas the upper gallery hosts changing visiting exhibits.
