Gosditch is the oldest street in the historic village of Ashton Keynes boasting very impressive examples of old Cotswold stone houses. People have lived on this street since mediaeval times. More recent local records note that In 1851 there were 35 homes in the street and it’s residents included a tailor, saddler, tallow chandler, stonemason, many glove makers and a cobbler. In 1870, the present school was built here. In 1840 a primitive Methodist chapel opened which later became a baker's shop.
