Holy Cross is a beautiful church on the edge of Ashton Keynes village which was mentioned in the Domesday book book as ESSITONE in 1086. It can be accessed either from the main road that bypasses the village, the B4696, or by following a lovely tree lined footpath which begins in the village and passes the river Thames. Surrounded by both old and new grave stones, the church grounds are a particularly splendid in Spring when there is an abundance of daffodils.
