Market Cross House is one of the most fascinating buildings in the town. Grade II listed for its protection, it has been marvelled at by locals and tourists for centuries because of its crooked shape. Unlike most of the manicured buildings of the royal town, this one stands out clearly. Built in 1718, the house was designed by an unknown but eccentric local architect. It is now home to the 'Crooked House Tearooms' which are some of the most popular in the area.
