The house built for the Mompesson family is the most imposing in Choristers Green. Today it is owned by the National Trust. A fine example of Stuart architecture, it was begun in the 1680s and completed in 1701. Inside there is a fine oak staircase and Georgian plasterwork added by a later resident. The rooms are furnished in period style and a collection of 18th-century drinking glasses is on show. To the rear is a peaceful walled garden and tea room.
