The Museum of the History of Science is housed in the oldest surviving purpose-built museum building in the world and has a wonderful collection of scientific objects from the past to delight and enthral both young and old. The museum has particularly strong collections of astrolabes, sundials, quadrants, early mathematical instruments and optical instruments such as cameras and microscopes. There is also a unique reference library for students researching the history of science.
