This building is intriguingly two-faced. Its façades to Butcher Row and Market Square are quite different. The Butcher Row face shows its true age. It is a 16th Century timber-framed building, though bricked in on the ground floor in Victorian times. On the other side it looks completely Victorian. The interior has been much altered but some period features remain. It was formerly The City Arms Inn.
