The Cathedral is set in the heart of historic Old Portsmouth, close to the seafront and the Millennium walkway. The oldest part of the cathedral dates back to 1185. It was attacked by the French in 1337, damaged by canon fore in the civil war and it houses the original Charles II Marriage Certificate.
