Today, the Radcliffe Camera is part of the Bodleian Library and is one of Oxford’s most recognisable buildings. The iconic circular structure was built by James Gibbs with a donation by John Radcliffe, a royal physician, and was the first library in the university to house scientific works. Today, it is the main reading room of the larger Bodleian library and yet retains its individual charm. It is not open to the public but is definitely worth seeing from the outside.
