Ringwood has been a home to the brewing trade since the early 1800s when four breweries and their maltings existed in the town. Today’s brewery was established in 1978 and is famous for its award winning beer, Old Thumper. Public and private tours are available for a chance to taste the different malted barleys and to see the copper where the malt extract is boiled. The onsite store sells all the brewery’s beers in four pint containers up to 72 pint Firkins.
