The long front of this old inn curves gently to follow the road. A striking example of timber-framing, it dates back centuries. It still retains interesting features inside and out, despite modernisation. The entrance in the centre of the front was once for coaches. To the rear are charming riverside gardens overlooking Harnham Bridge. The Rose and Crown is a popular sign for pubs and inns, taken from a royal badge.
