Silbury Hill is one of the most unusual and unique attractions in Wiltshire: a massive pre-historic man-made mound, the largest of its type in Europe. Built over four thousand years ago in the Neolithic period, the hill is today part of the Avebury World Heritage site. The purpose of the hill for the pre-historic people who built it is still today completely unknown. Visitors are not allowed to actually climb on the monument.
