St Antony’s College was founded using money donated by a French merchant Antonin Besse of Aden in 1952. It is one of the Universities seven graduate only colleges and has a particular bias towards international students. In the same way the teaching specialises in international relations, languages, economics and history of foreign countries. As a graduate college it attracts well-known academics from around the world and is at the forefront of a great deal of political and economic research.
