Map
St Edmund Hall was one of Oxford’s ancient Aularian houses which were the first halls before the establishment of the University’s colleges and is the only Medieval hall left in Oxford. It is also the oldest undergraduate institution in the English-speaking world. While the only visible remnant of the medieval hall is a large fireplace, the buildings are extremely beautiful. The Front Quadrangle of the Hall is particularly attractive. Today, it is one of the university’s largest colleges.
