Imagine the rich scents of feasting wafting through this impressive hall, as medieval Deans of Salisbury entertained the great and the good. The hall was the hub of the 13th Century deanery. The building was modified to meet changing needs as successive Deans lived there until 1922. Then it was nearly demolished as redundant, until its medieval core was rediscovered. A fragment of medieval wall-painting was uncovered in the restoration. Today visitors can learn about the building and watch a 30-minute audio-visual presentation on Salisbury.
