The Oceanarium is by the pier next to Bournemouth's fantastic beach. I've been there twice and it's quite cool. The tickets are slightly expensive but they offer a student discount, although I managed to get in on a Child fare which was £6.50. The place is reasonably big and there are quite a lot of interesting fish and reptiles. It's definitely better than most other oceanariums I've visited.
There are a lot of other attractions around the beach too, so you could easily spend the whole day in this area.
