Oxford University’s Ruskin School of Drawing & Fine Art was founded by John Ruskin in 1871 whose aim was to develop a course that would lead to a degree in art. This only became a reality more than a century later in 1978 when the School established its Bachelor of Fine Art degree. Today, the School admits only 20 students a year onto its coveted degree scheme, and hosts exhibitions and public art projects displaying the work of its students. The impressive building that houses the School is well worth a visit.
