  Staying near Warminster is very handy for visiting three counties – Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset, thanks to great road links on the A36, A303 and A350. Bristol, Swindon, Southampton and Bournemouth can all be reached within an hour or so. The town centre has some lovely old parts (close to Minster Church is particularly pretty) but also some grotty bits including a very dull shopping mall with lots of empty units.
