A part of the World Heritage Site at Avebury, the West Kennet Long Barrow is one of the most impressive and well-preserved Neolithic burial grounds in the country. Featuring a series of chambered tombs, the site was built in 3400 BC and used by the entire local community for at least a period of a thousand years. The site is now managed and preserved by English Heritage.
