The building in which the museum stands was originally the Dower House of Douglas Castle and is situated close to St. Brides Church. The museum is home to a series of stained glass windows that depict the coat of arms of the Douglas Earls. The main exhibitions are changed annually and are made up of memorabilia held by the Douglas family and the Cameronian Regiment.
