Perhaps the most beautiful of all the Border abbeys, Dryburgh Abbey can be found just north of the village of St. Boswells, a short drive to the south-east of Melrose. These remarkable Medieval ruins lie next to the River Tweed and exhibit fine examples of ecclesiastic architecture and masonry despite buildings have been ravaged by wars and fires. Some of the best remains are to be found in the Chapter House
