John Paul Jones is often referred to as ‘The Father of the American Navy’ and was a man who lived in this rural area of Scotland before leaving the shores for the new world. This cottage holds a fascinating historical collection that relates to his life and times and the way that he became such an important character in the development of America. The artefacts and documents have been well preserved and displayed here.
