The mining of lead went on in this area of Scotland for many generations. It was a dirty and dangerous business, but one of the main industries for a long period, and therefore a great many of the local population would have had some connection with it. This museum tries to bring to life the way that these people once lived. There are photographs and testimonials for visitors to study amongst other artefacts.
