Housed in an historic spa, this exhibition and interpretation centre tells the story of St Ronan’s Wells and the links to Scottish writers Hogg and Scott. Majestically sited on a hillside overlooking Innerleithen, St. Ronan’s Wells has been visited since the 18th Century when Robert Burns visited the Borders in 1787 and sampled its waters, but it wasn’t until the 1820s that it grew in popularity, thanks to the publication of Sir Walter Scott’s novel. The gardens here are very tranquil and ideal for a picnic.
