The historic town hall at the heart of the town was built in 1776 and plays home to the municipal museum. A step inside allows visitors to discover a fascinating past of Wigtownshire. One of the oldest ploughs in Scotland is on display as well as a fascinating Victorian 3D photograph archive. Other displays allow visitors to learn more about the polar explorers from Stranraer as well as view an extensive archaeology and farming display.
