Traquair dates back to back to 1107 and is the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. It was originally a hunting lodge for the kings and queens of Scotland, and later became a refuge for Catholic priests in times of terror. Today you can visit the secret stairs, spooky cellar, 18th Century dining room, an 18th Century working brewery and our award-winning 1745 cottage restaurant. Outside there’s a children’s adventure playground, woodland walks and craft workshops.
