An extremely rare find in All Saints Church in Monksilver is an Easter sepulchre. Resembling a tomb is no doubt how it came to be missed by the Reformation despoilers. The pulpit is 16th Century, the screen is Jacobean with lovely carvings and the lectern is possible older. The wagon roof is thought to be 13th Century and an alms box by the door is from 1634. Outside the church door you’ll find the famous murder tombstone which bears an ominous warning.
