Latest Ashburton Review

I always find it amazing just how green and pleasant the countryside of Devon is and here at Ashburton it seems particularly verdant. The buildings all have that olde world type of appearance with slat hanging from the roofs and neatly kept gardens and drives, all very lovely. From Ashburton Dartmoor is just a short drive with all the attractions the National Park has to offer, whilst if you're looking for more modern stuff to entertain the kids take a ride on the Blossom Railway or take a stroll...

If you are fans of nature and the outdoors, a visit to Dartmoor is essential, full of wildlife, plants and animals and some unpredictable weather! Be prepared for inclement weather and you’ll be fine - wellies, waterproofs and a camera are essential for kids. Ashburton is a nearby Devon town, on the southern slopes of Dartmoor, and a perfect base for exploring the area – not just Dartmoor itself but also the rugged Devon coastline with beaches and quirky fishing ports. If you need to be reassured civilisation is not too far away, Plymouth and Exeter are within easy reach, and the M5 is easily accessible. Ashburton itself has a large choice of shops, bars, pubs and cafés, everything you need for a short stay.
