Cornish antiquarian William Borlase excavated this site in 1878 and found a twenty-two metre in diameter barrow that contained a mixture of Neolithic and Bronze Age tombs. The site is today a mixture of original tombs and reconstructions that were put in place by Borlase and have been further refurbished and repaired by English Heritage. The barrow occupies an outstanding cliff top location on the Cornish coast.
