Watchet Boat Museum focuses on the town’s maritime history and is housed in what used to be a West Somerset Railway goods shed. On display is the world’s largest collection of Somerset flatners, flat bottom river boats once used in Somerset for transporting goods. Exhibits also include maps and knotwork along with an activity especially for children which involves lifting weights with a block and tackle. The museum, with its small shop selling related items, is run by volunteers.
