Butter Cross
Dunster, Somerset TA24 - England, UK

Map
The famous Butter Cross in Dunster dates from the late 14th to the early 15th Century. You can find this stone wayside cross at the top end of St George’s Street, north west of the village. The transplanted stump sits on a base complete with octagonal steps and was used long ago as a meeting place for people who brought and sold their own butter. This ancient monument is now in the hands of English Heritage.
