Hugh Town, the chief town on the Isles of Scilly, is situated on St.Mary’s and is dominated by Buzza Hill. The Buzza Tower stands on the top of this hill. It was built as a windmill in1834 but fell into disuse. It was rebuilt in 1912 as a permanent reminder of the visit of King Edward VII to the island in 1902. There are superb views from the tower and all the other inhabited islands can be seen from this point.
