The Sidmouth Clocktower stands on the very edge of the cliffs at the highest part of Sidmouth close to Connaught Gardens. It is thought that the original part of the tower was built around the 15th Century and during the later few centuries contained a lime kiln which the raw materials would be brought up the cliffs from the sea to by donkey.
