I was told by a friend of mine that the very best way to see the very best of Dartmouth and the River Dart was to get yourself on one of the river cruises and to simply let the scenery float right past you. She was absolutely right. The only thing that spoilt the experience for me was the lengthy queues that develop during the busy summer months, but once on board it was a great way to spend a couple of hours.
