On my last visit to Dartmouth Castle I was surprised just how thick the walls were. My knowledgeable guide told me in feet and not inches. It is owned by English Heritage, whose members get in for free but casual visitors, like me, have to pay a fairly pricey entrance fee, but once inside there was plenty to see and do for all the family.
