Forming part of the South West Coast Path, the Dorset Coast Path starts at Poole harbour in the east and finishes at Lyme Regis in the west. The region has been awarded World Heritage status and is now known as the Jurassic Coast. This name reflects the area’s abundance of fossils and important geological features and walkers are rewarded with views of one of the most spectacular coastlines in Britain. The path is well maintained and signposted and refreshments and accommodation are available at several key locations along the way.
