The Foreland Lighthouse – technically known as the Lynmouth Foreland - was built as an extra light 2 miles ENE of Lynmouth to help guard the Bristol Channel coast in 1900. It is 15 metres high and was automated in 1994. Its recognition pattern is four white flashes every 15 seconds. It can be reached either from the coast path or from Countisbury using the tarmac access road or by a rough, narrow footpath on the west side of The Foreland.
