There are 24 bridges, 9 milestones and an aqueduct to see along the 11-mile stretch of Grand Western Canal. Sympathetically managed, the Country Park, running between Tiverton and Holcombe Rogus, was originally designed to link the Bristol and English channels. Many of the canal buildings and bridges are listed as being of historic interest and have been restored by the canal ranger and volunteers. The waterways are a haven for wildlife; small mammals and otters, butterflies and a range of birds - moorhens, swans, mallards and kingfishers are often spotted.
