The smallest population of the Isles of Scilly is that of Bryher. This island faces Tresco across New Grimsby Sound where there are sheltered beaches and moorings in comparison to the west shore which is open to the Atlantic waves and has a shore of rugged rocks and little coves. There are two landing places, the newest being for low tide access. This jetty was built as a result of the BBC “Challenge Anneka” programme being built in three days. There are virtually no roads on the island, all transport being by sea.
