Hall Walk
Bodinnick, Fowey, Cornwall - England, UK
  Share Location Map
Hall Walk's well-trodden path goes back to the 16th century. In fact, the section from Bodinnick to Penleath Point is an early example of an ornamental promenade. Penleath point also has unforgettable views of the Fowey Estuary, and from up there it is easy to see why this walk has been named among the UKs top 100. The walk then winds around Pont Pill, past the tiny wooded hamlet of Pont to Polruan, where you can hop on the ferry back to Fowey. Hall Walk is three miles long, and it is moderately difficult.

We thought this walk was one of best wed done. Views of the Fowey River from Penleath Point were mesmerizing, as were views of the Pont River, on the approach to Polruan.

We found the walk quite easy, and it took us about an hour and a half, but we dawdled. We got a bit lost in the woods around Pont, so an ordnance survey map is probably a good idea. The little boat that took us back to Fowey from Polruan was great fun.
