This beautiful cottage in the stunning Dorset countryside was the home of Thomas Hardy until he was thirty-four years of age. It is the place where he wrote many of his most famous novels, including Far from the Madding Crowd and Under the Greenwood Tree. The traditional cottage and gardens have been owned by the National Trust since 1948 and allow visitors a glimpse at the life of this great author.
