As part of the World Heritage Jurassic coast, Lulworth is famous for its horse-shoe shaped cove. Towering cliffs enclose a sheltered bay formed over 10,000 years ago by coastal erosion. The unique landmark is a favourite with geologists and walkers, while local fishermen launch their boats from the beach. The small village boasts a heritage centre as well as hotels and gift shops. The rare remains of a fossilised forest can be found near the cove.
