Lydford is the deepest gorge in the southwest of England with the spectacular thirty metres Whitelady waterfall as its centrepiece. The National Trust have preserved this area of outstanding natural beauty since 1947, and there is a variety of marked woodland paths that take visitors over Devil’s Cauldron whirlpools and past some of the most unspoilt natural woodland in the region. The area attracts an abundance of animals and birds.
