Acquired by the National Trust in 1949, this manor house and grounds is located in the depths of rural Somerset. The Tudor great hall and 14th Century chapel are two of the most popular attractions here. The house was once the home of medieval herbalist Henry Lyte and this former owner planted many of the plants still growing in the grounds. There are plenty of estate walks to enjoy the rich architectural and cultural history.
