Merrivale Prehistoric Settlement contains a wealth of interesting prehistoric finds that date from 2500BC to 1000BC. It is thought that this Bronze Age settlement would have been one of the most important in the region during that time. There are several sacred sites located within the village which is maintained by English Heritage, including three stone rows, a stone circle of standing blocks and burial cairns.
