The Museum of Dartmoor Life throws visitors into a world at the turn of the 20th Century when this rural area was completely different to how it is today. Using reconstructions, original buildings and objects, the museum asks fundamental questions about how we would cope without electricity and running water. The museum acts as a lasting reminder of the tenacity and grit of these rural people, surviving in the elements of the moorlands.
