It was in the wool and cloth making trade that the village of Dunster made its wealth and the National Park Visitor Centre has some interesting displays of this development in medieval times. There is also a fascinating painting of how the village market might have looked in 1599. Hands-on activities include building a model of Dunster Castle. Modern life on Exmoor is also covered at the centre, including bird spotting and walking guides. There are facilities for those studying the National Park and group visits are welcomed.
