A Victorian fort restored by volunteers mainly from the Weymouth Civic Society, and greatly assisted by a recent award of £1.8 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The fort is a dedicated Museum of Coastal Defence. From the ramparts there are superb views over Weymouth Bay where the 2012 Olympic Sailing events will be held. Many tableaux, models, displays and artefacts with emphasis on Victorian times and the second World War. Over 70 rooms to see and a WWII canteen. A great day out for all the family.
